My Little Man

I remember the day we found out we were having another baby. H was only a few months old, so we were not exactly expecting the results of that test, however, it has been a fun, wild ride ever since that day.

My doctor scheduled J's inducement on February 27th, a month exactly from H's b-day, however, he decided to come a few days early and I got to experience the excitement of timing my contractions down to the minute and rushing to the hospital. Once it was time, the doctor barely made it to the room in time and he burst out of me with the same bolt of lightning that has remained in his body ever since. In fact, he came out so forcefully that he splattered the doctor's face with all sorts of fun bodily fluids. :)

Our lives have not been the same since. He has added such joy to our life with his goofy antics, silly faces, and sweet smiles. He has also added a huge need for much patience and a heart monitor for mom. :)He will bounce off the walls one minute, crawl up the door frame another, jump off the furniture the next. J is a daredevil, not afraid to do anything. He loves climbing trees and wants to learn how to do all sorts of tricks on his cool motorcycle bike. Falling to the floor is something he enjoys and without any sort of warning, he will jump onto your back as you walk by...always fun! :) J likes to make people laugh. He will dance around and make a clown of himself just to win your smile. Then there's the sweet, gentle side my sweet little J. He loves to sing, says the most beautiful prayers when he is not too shy and really loves to cuddle up when he is sleepy, sick or just woke up. He hugs with all his might and loves to get as close to you as possible when he sleeps with you. J will sit and rub my face, hold my hand and he loves to play with my hair. He cares deeply for people and their well-being. He was born ALL BOY...loves collecting monster trucks, racetracks and weapons. J shares Daddy's love of cars and always notices "hot rods" as we are driving down the road. He plans on one day owning a monster truck of his own in order to crush other cars and everytime he sees a fun "toy" like a big boat, an rv, a motorcycle, cool car, four-wheeler or anything else similar, he claims that when he grows up, he's gonna get one of those. :) J also loves to destroy everything...taking it apart so he can put it back together. Or sometimes...just to destroy it. One afternoon, he decided he didn't like his pants anymore, so he took a pair of scissors to them. He got to wear them ALL day, even when we went out. There's discipline for you! J loves to go fishing and although he'd rather be throwing rocks in the water than standing still with a fishing pole, he enjoys it. Despite his manly ways, J also has a soft side to him that enjoys dressing up (does the Incredible Hulk costume count as soft?) and he really likes to play with H's dolls. I tell Chad that he is just preparing to be a great daddy, but I'm not so sure he buys that.
J has his own vocabulary which we find so flippin cute. Some of the words he says (or has in the past) are: fruck-truck, wevkinz-webkinz, Efan-Ethan, Nofing-nothing, suvurvan-suburban, free-three, everyfing-everything, bemember-remember, fin mints-thin mints. He has gotten much better, although his interpretations of what a song is actually saying is sometimes hilarious.J and his Daddy are sooo much alike it's scary. They enjoy lots of the same things and think a lot alike. Man...I'm in trouble. They both love to invent things or make something new out of something old. And unfortunately, both would rather be playing than doing any kind of work, especially school. That has been fun for a homeschool mom, but I do the best I can.
J has been such a sweet joy to our family. He may be a little stubborn at times, but I see a great leader with a huge heart being formed right before my eyes. He makes me smile some days and cry the next, but I couldn't have asked for a more precious little man.

Thank you God for our sweet J.
