A weekend with Daddy

So, I went to our Ladies retreat this past weekend and therefore Daddy had the privilege of staying with the kids on Friday and Saturday. It was a nice break for me, and such a treat for them as well to get to spend some much needed time together. J, Daddy & H: Look how proud he looks. :)

On Friday, Chad took H & J to Chuck E. Cheese to play a few games. From the stack of sketch pictures I received when I got home (much to my delight, as I am very fond of sketch pictures from Chuck E. Cheese), I have no idea how they had any time to play games, or how they were able to steal the sketch machine for so long, but I was so excited. I'm including some of those pictures on here.
Daddy then took them fishing on Saturday. They didn't catch any fish, but caught a mess of fun memories that will last forever.

And, to top it off, nothing bad happened while I was away. No speeding tickets, no injuries, no falling into the lake....just loads of fun!

And mom even had a great weekend too! More to come on that soon!

Look at that precious young man! He's getting so big.

Perfect place for a "cheesy" smile!

Let the trumpets sound...we have a LOOSE TOOTH

So, I know that typically you rejoice over teeth that have fallen out, however, we are so excited to report that we have our FIRST loose tooth! YIPPEE! I don't know who's more excited, me or H. I'm not sure how old most kids are when they lose their first tooth, but we have watched cousins lose teeth left and right and all her classmates on Sunday morning have lost around 5 teeth each, so we have been waiting for this day for awhile.

She is so funny. I have been "given permission" to wiggle it about 25 times this morning. Of course, I enjoy wiggling it as much as she enjoys seeing my reaction! And have you ever noticed the way kids talk when they have a loose tooth? She now talks with her tongue on her tooth so she can feel it wiggle. So cute.

She also wants to tell everyone in the world that her first tooth is loose. H told everyone at church last night, has called all the grandparents, and keeps thinking of more people she'd like to make the announcement to. She's even written a note to her cousin in Colorado to let her know she lost it. Yes, we tend to get a little ahead of the game, but she is ready nonetheless. We'll post a picture soon of our new smile! Don't be surprised if you receive an official announcement in the mail with a picture, time and date of the big day! ha!

Halloween

So, I'm not so great at staying on top of posting or keeping everyone as updated as I'd hoped. So sorry. Maybe it will make it that much sweeter when I do post. :)

Here a few pictures of the kiddos from Halloween. Hope you all had a fun night!

H and J together. What a face! He didn't really need a mask!

H as the alley cat. Isn't she precious?

We have our own body guard! J as the Incredible Hulk. I'm scared, are you?

J's impression of the Incredible Hulk. I just wonder if he made this face all night behind the mask! Like the dark hair? It was oh so fun to clean up that night.
